Targeted Dispel Magic w/ Chain Metamagic

In your example, the Chained Dispel Magic would seem to dispel fewer spells than an area Greater Dispel Magic. The Greater Dispel Magic is virtually guaranteed to remove one spell from each person.

Thanks for bringing this up Obviously if you wanted to take down a lot of spells with a Greater Dispel you would use it as an area spell, however even as an area spell it would still take down fewer spells than a chained targeted dispel in this case it would be .65*6 which would be on average 3.9 spells, now these would all be the highest level spells on the PC's so one could argue that you get a bigger bang for your buck, but if your goal is to take down as many spells as possible a chained targeted dispel is better.
