Umm no. You can't CDG a troll, why should it work against the big T?

As far as killing it, your not supposed to. It IS the godzilla of D&D and always has been. It takes alot to kill it (very high level PCs and multiple wishes), but it can in theory be done.

As far as the CR, it is far too low. CR should be closer to 24-25 most likely. But then again its so stupid and without the ability to deal with flyers its not too much of a threat to most parties.
You can't kill it very well, but you can keep away without even really trying.

actually, you can CDG a troll. you just have to use something that does real damage, like alchemist fire.

hehe... i guess a Wish is what you use to Coup-de-Grace a Tarrasque.

No unique creature types would rule out the Tarrasque. Since, like Highlander "there can be only one."

Well, as you yourself quoted, it DOES allow unique types Wouldn't go quite as far as calling it a lesser deity, either. Still, I'd require that the mage in question has seen the Tarrasque before he can morph into one, so that's a pretty decent limit already

There's no way the Tarrasque is CR 24 or 25. Many people post here about how X level 20 character can solo it. All you really need is flight, a lot of +5 arrows and the skill to hit for at least 41 points per round. Low level experts can defeat the Tarrasque, although they need someone to use wish or miracle.
