[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

Pari comes into the Dunn Wright hot on Garnet's heels, looking Gnomishly amused with life in spite of the group's rather grim circumstances. He parks Tagaiwi at the base of a barstool and hops up, slapping the Dwarf on the shoulder. "Cheer up, kaibígan! We're getting there. Just one more small issue to resolve now!"

Garnet smiles in spite of herself, raising her ale to the gnome. "Master Pari," she tells him. "You could find sunlight at the bottom of a dead mine."

Ariel Esimae, Female Aasimar Cleric (NPC)

After cleaning up some undead in the streets of Venza and collecting some rewards for their service, Ariel let's Veniarus and Cythera talk her out of traveling alone to Tritower. Apparently there is more work of Her Justice needing to be done in the City of Glass.

Without an abbey or chapter house of Her own, the warmaiden has found kindred ideals among the paladins and priests of Helerion. She spent a few days getting to know Father Kedric. After learning there are some other adventurers doing some work around Venza until their captured Barghest wakes up, she heads out to find the summoner and his centaur.

Ariel finds Veniarus at his lodging and bids him and his eidolon to join her at the Dunn Wright Inn to seek out a gnome in the company of a tiger and a female dwarf. They enter the tavern and only need a few moments of walking around the room to find the likely pair.

"Veniarus, I think that is them over there."

The cleric is wearing a fine tabard of her Goddess's emblem and colors over her breastplate. Her hair is blond and shoulder length. She is dressed appropriately for finding and dealing with evildoers, forgoing her clerical vestments this visit.

She approaches the bar and addresses Pari and Garnet

"Pardon me. Might you two... er, three be known to Father Kedric?"

Veniarus follows Ariel into the Tavern of the Dunnwright Inn, and when she notices the two that they had been looking for he nods and follows her over to them. At the moment he does not have the imposing Centuar-like Eidolon with him as the Eidolon is back in the Æther resting after the fights with the Undead. When they arrive at the two individuals he says "Greetings, I hope you are well met."

The gnome leans back a bit on his bar stool and looks at the attractive young woman, and then at the half following on her heels. Without shifting his gaze, he addresses his dwarven friend. "See, I told you Garnet! Things are looking up already. Well met indeed! My friend here was just bemoaning the lack of quality adventurers in the Inn, and now Kavan has provided - possibly - just the help we need. Belly up to the bar here, and we'll tell you our tale."

The teenage warmaiden orders some tea, preferring the drink over ale, wine, whiskey, and any other alcoholic drink. Ariel leans her longspear against the bar.

"Ahh, Garnet. Her blessings upon you." She greets the dwarf and then turns to the gnome.

"That means that you are indeed, Pari. Please, tell us your tale. Father Kedric indicated that you might be needing assistance, particularly when that demon beast you captured wakes up."

The cleric pulls up a stool and sits down.

"Pah, people are summoning demon beasts, now? Preposterous!"

The golden half-orc at the table with the red handprint asks the air. He slams his mug down on the table, and it flies off, across the room. "Hmph, sorry," he says as a red hand appears to float, pick up the mug, and return it to him.

The inn door batters open, striking the well-worn gouge in the wall where countless ruffians and toughs have sent it crashing so many times before. This time propelling it, more from sheer velocity of movement than any particular degree of muscle, is a jaw-droppingly lovely woman of golden hair and fair skin, with wide, laughing indigo eyes and a flowing white gown that has seen better days...it's now torn in places and dirty and spattered with what is most likely blood here and there. The girl (? woman? it's hard to say...she is youthful, but seems agelessly so) wearing it has a crossbow slung over her shoulder and a quiver of bolts at her side. As she storms in, she props a thin, unshod quarterstaff that's not much more than a stout tree branch up in the corner before racing to the table where Garney and Pari hold palaver with some new friends.

"Pari," Maia says breathlessly, tired from the effort of running in the constant tug of gravity, "I found a building outside the inn that is full of wonderful animals. They're big! And very gentle...and they're all in pens made of wood! Do you know what they are? Oh! And I think they're hungry because they sniff and nibble at my hand. What do they eat?"
