Barlo smiled politely at the idea of turning down pay or haggling for less. It went against the nature he developed while helping run a tavern. Though, he grew up needing to earn a living so noble decline of gold was a strange idea.

“Well, a man has to eat and drink... after that, I suppose he only need procreate and that can be done for free.” Poor people were a tribute to that fact of life.

“I had not heard of dangers and troubles in the Tri-Tower area. I too could provide some magical healing on caravan duty... among other things,” he had an incorrigible grin.

“How long would a journey to Tri-Tower and back take?” Barlo asked as he considered that a potential job to take while he waited for Haleen to come back around to Venza.

Barnibus looks quizically at trixie then looks around the inn at the many battle hardened warriors within its walls. "Well I figured being amongst these other great warriors you were a fighter as well." He takes a long swig of drink."Alas, you may not be a warrior lass but you will no doubt create your own tells! You should find some of these other warriors to travel with or even myself and create great tails. If I travel with you then upon our success we shall return to this town, fill this inn with music and drink, and have the city in awe of our great might!"

Busy cleaning tables on such a busy night, the everpresent Marla overhears a question asked about the time it would take to get to Tritower. After no initial attempts are made to answer it by local patrons, the barmaid speaks up, "It's a little over a couple hundred miles, stranger," she says, addressing Barlo. Counting off her fingers, she breaks it out, "With a good horse and staying on the Silver Road, you could probably do it in 5 days. A good brisk walk might get you there in 8 days, but more often 9. And a dwarf or most of the other smaller folks aren't going to get in less than 12 days." With that, she scoops up the empty drinks and gets back to work, every now and again casting a suspicious eye towards the flailing man on the stage.

Heinrich notices for once Marla is not looking at him, so he gestures to the fire in the fire place and whispers to in. next seen is a decohesion of the flame in the fireplace of three small flames, which he scoops up and starts juggling. sounds can be heard from the small flames but unless you speak ignan, it is gibberish.

But the barmaid was busy and he turned back to his table companion again. "Bad luck that, a wagon breaking an axle. Was it the cause of poor road conditions?"

"I have a decent horse myself, so I could potentially visit there myself if I thought there were a good reason to find my Heleen there. Do tell, is there a similar drinking hall like this in that town?"

"That, along with just lack of planning. They were more worried about leaving on time than double checking that the wagon was in good condition. After about 5 days of travel, a bumpy road caused the axle to break. No one was hurt, thankfully."

Ethane took a sip of wine again, thinking about which bars would be as prominent in Tritower before answering "There are a few taverns, but the one that comes to mind is the Cloakwork Boar. It is near enough to the bay that the merfolk sometimes swim up, rather than having to walk in the port to the tavern. Made it really popular. As for dedicated adventuring taverns like this one, I am not aware of any."
