Colgrave pauses mid-spiel to regard the plant person, returning his smile with one of his own which shows a few too many sharply pointed teeth to be entirely reassuring.

On second thoughts, yes, I do believe I'll have what he's having," he murmurs to Brews.

He remains propped up against the bar next to Vex and Rumbum, tapping out a beat with his cane on his leg as he listens with pleasure to Karananak's tune.

The orc pauses before speaking again, bringing his large axe down with a thud, holding it tightly, but not in a threatening mannor.

[sblock=gobin]
Ahh...you and I spar sometime. Good practice. Maybe I teach you a think or two. HA HA.

As for her questions, Rumbum answer with a question of his own. How you know so much about my kind?
[/sblock]

Vex paused for a moment, but managed to not stare at the tiefling fop any more than the situation required. When it was apparent that he was more interested in the drinks than the company, she returned her attention to the orc warrior.

[sblock= goblin] "In the field, there aren't always banners to follow- I've found it best to be able to know one's enemy. Or, at least, to be able to know who is an enemy and who isn't..." She paused for another moment- it was obvious that she was waiting for a response to her earlier, as-yet- unanaswered question. "As to the offer for sparring, I would think not. If I'm going to play, I play for keeps. Bashing about like squires was fine when I was a child, but it lacks a certain spice these days..." [/sblock]

After watching the exchange thus far with a grin, Gark chimes in.

[sblock=goblin]"You know, you two would make a lovely couple," he says, referencing their spat as if it were a lover's tiff. Before they can respond he adds, "Sit, please, both of you; have a drink on me."[/sblock]
He motions to two seats at the bar.

The orc turns his head abruptly as he hear another speak his native tongue.

[sblock=goblin]
Drink?...yes! Rumbum like drinks.
[/sblock]

As he moves towards the chair Gark has pointed to Rumbum states

[sblock=goblin]
Girl with big sword would not make good mate for me. Not enough hair on face and too narrow in the hips. Maybe you choose her for mate?
[/sblock]

As he sits down he states to Vex.

[sblock=goblin]
I am d'Tharashk. My chief says I good warrior. I must prove myself in battle. I do that soon.
[/sblock]

To 354b Rumbum greets him in goblin. "ARK Kerheuu KEe YuKKEuuk!" smashing his blade against his chest as he did with Vex the first time he saw her.

"For the benefit of those who don't speak Goblin, this one likes swords, fighting, and generally says hello," Gark says to 354b.

Vex nodded at the orc's response, and her smile lost its dangerous feral gleam. She barked a few more words in guttural Goblin-speech, then stepped back from the table to lean her greatsword against the wall.

[sblock= Goblin] "Well, if you're a good warrior and you want to prove yourself in battle, you're better off adventuring instead of working for your House..." [/sblock]

Then she returned to the table, and waved to Brews for a few more drinks. She looked at the others as she sat down. "Well, now that that business is taken care of, we can have a few drinks and trade tales until somebody shows up with a job..." She turned to Gark, and waved her hand towards his fine, expensive clothing. "So what is your story, then? I've not seen too many of your folk so finely dressed- most of them favor furs and rough leather..."

"An unusually adept translator, too," Colgrave puts in slyly. "Might I join you? I trust you'll find that I can spin a passable tale when my turn comes."

"So what is your story, then? I've not seen too many of your folk so finely dressed- most of them favor furs and rough leather..."
"'My folk'?" Gark asks with a raised eyebrow and a slight smile. He isn't insulted but rather seems doubtful that this human would know much about his 'folk'. "Yes, well 'my folk' aren't really from Sharn, so you may find our fashion tastes to be a bit advanced. More to your point, I'm here searching for weapons training. As one who swings around a giant piece of metal yourself, I don't suppose you know of any polearm trainers in this city?"

"An unusually adept translator, too," Colgrave puts in slyly.
Gark gives Colgrave a quick wink.

The orc shakes his head in approval "Yes! That is plan"

With that he looks down at an ale which a frightened waitress put in front of him. He grabs the drink. But before he can drink it, the cup shatters into many pieces, sending ale and cup shards everywhere. "Agggghhh!" the orc growls in anger. "Bring drink in big wooden bowl! That's how it is done at home land!"
