I got it this morning.

I think it will be very helpful for my D20 Modern game, and also for calculating balanced encounters for the event I'm running at Terpcon. The download also includes an Excel spreadsheet that will do the calculations for you (I am math-challenged and their new calculation method uses a logarithm).

From the pdf:

This section enables the GM to design encounters for the players that are matched to their abilities, and to group multiple encounters into a longer session without overwhelming the players. At a glance, the GM will be able to outline each encounter and well as design natural breaks in the action that allow the players to rest and recover, to be challenged without being overwhelmed.

I recommend it.

And what's the risk, anyway? It really is free.

You know it's a tough market when people are questioning whether or not they should download the free stuff. Damn!

Confused? I guess. Just tell me what you thought of it so I can make a decision whether or not to download this FREE product, please.

LOL. I think he's saying that it's FREE and you should look for yourself.

Unless you've got a dial-up connection and are worried about the time it will take, why not? C'mon take the plunge! :)

Zoatebix---BE CAREFUL!!!!!1!

Whoa! I made my decision before even following the link. I actually own Grim Tales and the GMing advice in it is great - but having it condensed in a pdf would be greater!

I'll give you another report after I download it and give it a once-over.

If only I'd known that he was doing this, I'd have worked to get my review up on it instead of the other books I'm working on.
