So is "Chi/Rho: An Open Analysis of CR and EL, Copyright 2004, Jim Stenberg aka
“Cheiromancer”; additional input by Craig Cochrane, CR Greathouse, and Benjamin
Durbin." published anywhere besides these boards? Google turns up nothin'...

Well, it is published in two place now: these boards plus the FREE! Gamemastering PDF from Bad Axe Games, available now at RPGnow.com.

I should also mention that in the very last post in the above-linked thread, Cheiromancer outlines how to apply the system to 3.0-style experience, Grim Tales-style experience, and 3.5/FRCS-style experience.

The PDF now incorporates 3.5 style experience (i.e., the method that allows low-level characters to "catch up", a.k.a. party XP divided equally among all party members regardless of level).

No, but I'm starting to suspect that Poster Bard's original post was... :)

Wulf's "5th Column" of informants, pimpers and fanboys(girls) has infiltrated all corners of the gaming world ;)!

PS - What? Me? Pimp? Never!

I do not now, nor have I ever, worked for Bad Axe Games. I do not own any of their products. No one has put me up to this. I just want to know if it is worth it to download this FREE product while it is available for the very limited time that it is. There is nothing wrong with asking people for their opinions before I take the time to download a FREE product. Some of us are just more discerning than others, I guess! Hrrrumph!

Well, I for one think I was vastly over charged. ;)

Actually I liked it. I'm sort of a late adopter of the whole PDF game supplement thing, anyone got any other suggestions for me?

I'll admit, math is not my strong point, but I dutifully plugged in my group's numbers and a couple past encounters into the formulae and then compared the results to the standard method of calculating XP in the revised Dungeon Master's Guide. In every case, the method in this pdf ended up giving more XP than the standard method. Whether that's good or bad is beyond my comprehension (I didn't have a problem with the standard method, so I don't really understand the purpose of this pdf), but this method certainly makes a party advance more quickly.

I think I'll find it handy because I have a group with disparate levels (granted the lower level characters are NPCs, but they still contribute). So far I've been going too easy on them, and plugging in the numbers in the spreadsheet confirmed that. My "big fights" keep coming up moderate. No more... :D

I'd like to see your numbers to double check my own.

Keep in mind the DMG flattens XP across the early levels (1-3, I think-- take a look at the chart) which will mean the results will vary a bit if your party falls into that range.
