Just thought it would be neat to share [and perhaps yoink 
] bases of operations you've seen in your games.
In my group, we've had some interesting bases. I TRY to, but sometimes it doesn't quite work out that well.
One DM in my group enjoys making unique bases. One of them was an underground lair several miles underground with a teleporter unique to us so we could travel up to town and back easily. There was a pet within the place and that was the unique part. For every like 500gp you gave it [don't actually remember the amount], it dug out a 5-foot square from the earth for you. As an underground area, we made our base quite expansive.
Another base was a book that we carried with us. Open the book and there was a map. In actuality, the map was the island base we lived on and when we said the word, we appeared in that spot and the book sort of disappeared from the main land until we returned.
Flying airships have been common as well, though not necessarily as unique or interesting as those above.
