Tell me about your House Rules for Action Points

Aside from minor editing and feat access, as described by JPL, I also allow 6 to be re-rolled and added to the original score.

Okay...so here's what I'm planning on doing:

Action Points

A character can spend 1 action point to do one of these things:

1) Alter a single d20 roll used to make an attack, a skill check, an ability check, a level check, or a saving throw.

2) Use a class talent or class feature during your turn for which the expenditure of 1 action point is required.

3) Increase defense for one round (does NOT stack with the Total Defense option).

4) Heal 1d3 damage, or "Hey--it's not as bad as I thought."

For 1., 2., & 3., roll extra dice based on the following table:

Code:
Character Level Action Point Dice Rolled
    1st-3rd 1d6
    4th-9th 2d6
   10th-15th 3d6
   16th-20th 4d6

There is a limit of 1 Action Point per round.
