D&D 3E/3.5 Tempest in 3.5

Popertop

First Post
Okay, so Tempest is a 3.0 TWF class, with terrible feat prerequisites (spring attack chain? yuck), I was wondering if anyone had retooled it to 3.5 and made it, you know, not suck.

The Tempest is in CAdv. The newer version is five levels and has good stuff at every level. It still has a ton of prereqs including Spring Attack, but is worth it for a real focused TWF character.

Who thought that it was a good idea to have Spring Attack as a prereq for a TWF class? The two styles are pretty much the opposite of each other.

yeah thats my main problem with it, theres no reason for me to have to take that dumbass feat. why dodge and mobility anyways?
not all two weapon fighters prance around.

so no other TWF classes?
homebrew?
anything?

The Tempest gets the ability to attack with both weapons during a Spring, and the name "Tempest" kind of does imply a lot of movement.

As far as other TWF classes, there's the Invisible Blade from CW (specific to daggers) and the Daggerspell classes (also obviously dagger-specific). Nothing else jumps out at me, though I'm sure there are a few organization-based TWF classes in more esoteric sources. If you want to play a slow TWF character with two bigger waepons, it's good to stick with fighter and maybe go for some of the Style feats in CW.

You could also multiclass for...

Spiritual Lion Totem Barbarian (complete champion) to get pounce

Arcane Hunter Ranger (complete mage) to get arcanists as a favored enemy

the name "Tempest" to me, implied a whirling storm of blades, hence the TWF

anyways, thanks for all of your prompt replies and helpful suggestions.
