I have a elf , fighter wizard Acane Archer, when he becomes a lich can he still be the Arcane Archer? I am thinking you can but I never saw anything about it. Thanks

I don't see any reason why not. What are you thinking would conflict? The race? He's still an Elf Litch, he's just dead now.

If you're talking about advancing, on that I would say yes, though I can't quote any rules on it.

[Edited to be clearer]

What level of wizard are you?

I might be wrong but I thought that you needed to be a certain level before becoming a lich. Probally it was in the other editions.

Why a lich anyway? Not that they aren't cool, but a skeletal warrior would be more combat oriented.

I was just using Lich, Arcane Archer as an example. Some of my players may lurk here and did not want to give away any secrets.

But continueing with my example, My Arcane Archer Lich can't advance as an Arcane Archer anymore ??

This is tough area. The character is now considered undead as creature type. I don't know if an undead elf still counts as an elf.

Personally, as the rules go I think it would not be allowed. However, I think the cool flavor of the character would make me personally allow this.

I agree with you on both counts, Crothian.

Technically, creature type and race are totally different. An elf's type is humanoid, so it doesn't matter what type it is. It's still an elf.

But elf is a humaniod type, not undead type. Its a very gray area. I can see arguements for both sides, but as usual I go conservative.
