Sneak Attack Press is now running a Backer Kit campaign for our latest book Tent and Bedroll.

Every character has to sleep, and they don’t always have the luxury of a fluffy bed at the inn. Camping in the wilderness is a common experience in most fantasy RPGs, and when characters have to camp, they need the right gear.

Tent and Bedroll is a short PDF themed around camping gear. It contains:
  • Real history of camping gear
  • Camping in a fantasy world
  • Optional rules for setting up camp
  • Random tables for discovering camps
  • New magic items
  • New monsters
We've already funded and reached two stretch goals! You can join the campaign now!

Sounds interesting. Especially since I was thinking about applying mechanical penalties and benefits to the various Lifestyles and then requiring certain level of gear and expertise to maintain those lifestyles while adventuring in the wilderness.

This adds fluff and looks like a decent read and you have several options. I'm not sure how much is going to be used and how much is brushed over like ration and ammo. Not sure if the tradeoff is worth a new system. It could be for many tables and some sort of benefit for your lifestyle might be of use.

I was making a new PC and he has the Priest's Pack. This has a blanket and a robe for camping. No tent or even tarp/sailcloth with some string to make a lean-to. It's likely not needed for most games. Similar to a book on armor and how many days you wear your undershirt padding before you start to smell and not be able to hide or have disadvantage on CHA checks.
