I crit!
Teos has had the Starter box for a while now, I think he ran events or saw them ran at GenCon and he talks about his experience using it at PAX.

He begins with a quick unboxing. He does show some pages.

Thanks! I oversaw the running of D&D events at PAX West, which used the Starter Set for all the Demo and Learn-to-Play events. The same events were previously run at Gen Con, but I did not attend Gen Con. I did speak to folks there and they said it was equally positive to my experiences at PAX.

If anyone has questions about the starter set, I'm glad to answer them. My next video is an overview of the adventures. I may also do a "how to run" for each adventure, as I think that would be useful for new DMs. I do love new DMs!

Were there any groups less than four that played? If so how’d that go?

Also would character be a decent dmsguild thing? Any third party sheets?

Yes! We ran tables for even one player (though we tried hard to prevent seating just one person) and often for 2-3. Our DMs are typically very experienced and we pick our Demo/LtP DMs carefully so they can handle very new players or unusual table sizes. When running for one player, we don't run as written. It's conversational and instructional and just showing the player the basics with minimal threats.

The set does include scaling information and I think does as good a job with scaling as can be hoped for from such a product. That's hard to do, so this is a major plus. Really, everything about the product suggests a great deal of care and planning.

Adding additional character boards is an interesting concept. I would guess you could do that through the DMsGuild, or even with your own format (unique board configuration) outside of the DMsGuild. (The DMsGuild isn't a great place to publish these days for most creators, but that's it's own topic.) Someone could likely create their own board using the SRD and publish that using the CC license. But, I'm not a lawyer!
