So, slowly the truth about Riley is revealed.

I wonder were Sarahs journey will lead us... Are they building the predecessors of these flying drones of Skynet?

And I still wonder if John Henry will turn out to be Skynet or not. I keep wondering - Why does Skynet need to send himself a baby sitter? ;)

I really really want to like that whole John Henry storyline. It seems so cool.

But I just don't get it. What the heck is that T-1001 up to? Why? And why does she want to teach this AI morals? That's not going to help them win the war against the humans. What is she up to? (And why is that dope FBI guy not running screaming to Sarah - geez, not that there's pretty much definitive proof about the future and how everything's going to go to hell staring him straight in the face...! *ahem*)

I want to like it, but I'm just confused by that part of the show.

I still don't care about Riley, and I nearly cheered at the end of the episode. I'm surprised that certain people (especially young ones) that go back in time don't immediately go AWOL. Look! A beautiful, unspoiled world filled with modern conveniences and no machines trying to kill them - everything that many have never even experienced before. I'd revel in this modern new society as long as I could until I was happily vaporized when Judgement Day finally arrives (and the humans are winning, as it keeps getting put off. Woo!).

I'm thinking that the 1001 has the idea, or was programmed with the idea, that if Skynet could understand humans better, how and why they sometimes do very illogical things, that the machines will be better able to exterminate them. Know thy enemy.

I found this whole episode to be rather meh. Also, Sarah's story was incredibly confusing at the end: did she hypnotize herself as well?

The most damning thing though was yet another episode without Derek. If Sarah is the crazy one, and John is the sissy kid, someone needs to be the badass.

What? 2:12 included plenty of Derek, or I´m missing something?

No, you're not. The episode number in the title is wrong. "Earthlings" is episode 13, not episode 12. "Alpine Fields," episode 12, did in fact have Derek. My comment was for episode 13, "Earthlings Welcome Here."

There have been a number of episodes this season where Derek is altogether absent or only in a couple of scenes. It's more pronounced in an episode like this one, because otherwise Derek probably would have gone with Sarah, and that would ruin the plot.
