Spoilers for this episode to be expected, as usual for episode-specific threads

Great episode. Fascinating and emotional stuff all around.

I wonder if the Liquid that said "No" is the Liquid we already know? Maybe she represents her own faction now, looking for a 3rd option (without being able to guess at the moment if that's good for us, the machines, both or none.)

And I wonder if the next episode, we will see John Henry and Ellison see play a round of D&D or something? ;)

For everyone who's been complaining that John is emo-kid, this week's episode is perfect. We have to watch John grow, that's the core premise of the whole show, and to grow, he has to have something to grow from. We got to see some great growth this episode. Awesome stuff.

Your suggestion of a third faction is, I believe, dead-on. There are at least two machine factions in the future, with goals that don't entirely overlap. Which is even more great stuff. With sentience comes disagreement.

Yeah, I thought that the revile that John knew about Riley for a while and was waiting to see how it played out was really great. A good glimpse of what kind of man he would become.
The scene with Derek shooting Jessy was great as well. "John told me to let you go. I'm not John."
Lots of little, great touches. I also particularly liked the scene when John was talking to Sarah about seeing Riley and says "I never should have doubted you." and you, and Sarah think it's directed at her, and then he says "not you. Her." and then nods to Cameron. A real kick in the teeth for poor Sarah.
I'm started watching this show hoping for some mindless robot on robot action and special effects, but it has envolved into a really good drama.

It also fit nicely to what Derek said to him:
(Paraphrasing) We watch to see if you're human.

John having figured Riley out (at least parts of it) way before anyone else, and not acting on it or telling anyone and instead see where it developed was kinda... cruel and heartless of him. (Though in fact, it seems he did it for a reason - he wanted to be loved by her.)
Him crying in the end showed that he is still human.

On a marginal side note, but going a little back to the action "porn" idea:
It was also interesting to see the plasma rifle or what-they-call-it in action - we really need that against our contemporary Terminators. ;)

Great 2-parter. That whole sub thing was creepy and interesting - the T-888 captain was particularly cool.

As with others - the (at least) two machine factions is a great idea. Maybe something will come from the whole Ellison side-story yet.

And I wonder if the next episode, we will see John Henry and Ellison see play a round of D&D or something? ;)
Heh. During the painting scene, I reached over to the bookshelf and showed my wife the exact Giants of Legend mini (fomorian) that he was working on. She got a good chuckle (and a "Cool!") out of that.

I can only concur - this was a superb episode.
I really hope that John and Sarah can sort things out - I don´t like the tension between them. Cameron is taking to much place, to soon.

Asmo
