I have to admit the basic concept is at least interesting. But then, I found at least a couple of the Terminator movies everyone dogs on worth watching, so maybe I'm a bad judge.

we now have a few plot details

The eight-episode series, led by showrunner Mattson Tomlin and director Masashi Kudō, and developed by Japan's Production I.G ("Ghost in a Shell"), Skydance TV and Netflix, takes place in 1997 in Tokyo, just before the artificial intelligence Skynet launches Judgment Day. It adds a new A.I. called Kokoro (voiced in English by Rosario Dawson) into the mix that may hold the key to humanity's fate in a war for survival. At the same time, a new Terminator assassin (Timothy Oliphant) and a human warrior from the future named Eiko (voiced by Sonoya Mizuno) are in a race to hunt down (or protect) Kokoro's creator, Malcolm Lee (voiced by André Holland), according to a series description.

I have too much Justified Timothy Oliphant to not picture this Terminator being from Kentucky. :ROFLMAO:

On the second last episode now. Liking it. Great characters, cool story, nicely done SF themes. All good.

Although, the whole, "Humanity automatically destroys anything that takes away it's idea of being superior" argument doesn't really track. After all, other than tens of thousands of years ago, humanity has never met or encountered anything that's mentally its equal. So, you can't really say we'd automatically try to exterminate it since it's never actually happened.

Kokoro's logic seems based on a very skewed interpretation of history. Yeah, sure, people have absolutely been horrible. No argument from me. But, I'd say that we're getting a LOT better. And even in 1997 when the story takes place, we had been getting considerably better for quite a few years.
