Ideally I want to try and have both 1" and 1/4" pieces, but if I can only have one I might go with 1/2" pieces.

I did consider a recess but it would make it a little more complex to design. These are concepts and I'm still actively prototyping so I'm trying different things.

The 1/4 inch might be even better and is where I went at first, but I split the difference at 1/2. One trick with a recess is that the bottom might have to be solid and right now it appears hollow, which might not be possible. At any rate, interesting product; I'll keep watching. Best of luck.

Yeah the hollow is what made it difficult. I have a radically different idea I also want to try though.
