Terrain Accessories - Doors

Way back when, I once made a big pile of laminated dungeon tiles, which I still use from time to time. The one thing that I always wanted, but was unable to figure out a way to make well, was doors. I'm talking about stand up doors with good bases...like the Hero-Quest ones.

Anyone know where to get something like that or how to make them?

I use D&D Dungeon Tiles almost exclusively now (with my Tact-Tiles nearby for things the tiles just can't handle). For doors I use Dwarven Forge doors. They are some of the best stand-up doors I've ever found. I don't think they sell them as stand-alones on their web site (though they should), but you may want to check out their booth at Gen Con if you get the chance.

And though I don't own any of these, I've been toying with getting some doors and other dungeon accessories from Thomarillion. They look pretty cool, though they may lack the stands you’re looking for.

I also like and recommend World Works.

Fat Dragon has some free doors. While they may not be quite as nice looking as the World Works sets Fat Dragon terrain is generally easier to build, and does the job. Free is good too, and will give you an idea as to whether you may want to expand on 3d or 2.5d terrain. :) It can be a hobby that sticks with you. (I was making cardstock castles before there was even a D&D....)

I tend to grab World Works first, then fill in odd corners with Fat Dragon and other companies.

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* 'Not as nice looking' does not mean 'Does not look nice' - both World Works and Fat Dragon make some very nice terrain. FD's Caverns is my default for caves, caverns, and mines.

We had a box of doors in the ENnies the other year, and they were pretty good - I use them almost every game. I'll see if I can find the box.

Our Dragontiles line features one-piece fold up doors like you're describing:

Everything in our catalog is 10% off this month, too!

I sent an email to fatdragongames a week or two ago, suggesting a product with 10-20 different kinds of doors......still hoping for something like that.

Yeah, I'd be interested in a pack of dungeon window dressing. I don't really have any interest in tiles (I just love my tac-tiles way too much), but items I could drop down to dress things up (doors, piles of gold, chests, magic circles, etc.) would be a very, very tempting buy.

For the things that would be laying on the ground (e.g. piles of coins), I'd like an image that doesn't show a grid beneath (so I could print on transparent sheets and just lay them down).
