Tests and Trials (Manzanita Judging)

Malen, Dwarf Wiz1

"Not a bit," says Malen. "It's not goblin, that's for sure. Anyone else want to see?" he says, offering the parchment.

He gives a glance at Luthiel's seeping wounds, "Someone ought to take a look at that. Really. Otherwise you're going to lose that leg to rot."

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Luthiel's face pales considerably at Malen's statement, and he glances apprehensively around the group. "Um, does anyone here have any skill in the healing arts? Otherwise I'm afraid I'll have to return to town to find someone who can help me." As bad as things seem to be going for him so far, Luthiel still doesn't look excited at the prospect of going home with his first job unfinished.

Garrit Kelspire, Paladin 1 of Hyrag

"Here let me see that wound," Garrit says. Upon inspecting Luthiel's wound he says, "While I cannot completely heal your injury, I can heal it up a little bit." He then lays hands on Luthiel (2 hit points).

<<It's the best I can do.>>

A slightly surprised look crosses Luthiel's face when Garrit first lays his hands upon the wounds, but it quickly shifts to amazement. "That is something I did not expect! Uh, no offense meant to you, Garrit, but... well, I've always heard that those of orcish blood were far better at causing wounds than healing them." Luthiel offers up his hand to Garrit in thanks.

ooc: I'll take what I can get right now. Don't remember who it is that's playing our cleric, but we definitely haven't heard from them in a while.

The healing powers of Garrit's spell did not completely heal Luthiel's leg, but the bleeding stopped. An enormous amount of pus and other vile looking substances have seeped out of the closing wounds, creating a little puddle of goo around the injured elf's leg. Luthiel's leg still hurts a great deal, but only when he puts pressure on it, and it no longer has any chance of becoming infected.

OOC: Luthiel healed 2 points of damage (4/7)

Jasper takes the parchment that Malen offered to the group. Reading it over, he sees what if he can decipher the parchment.

Looking around at the group, Jasper remarks "So, do we want to take a rest for now, and let Luthiel heal up some? Or should we just stick together and try to fight these things in one group? Or split up again? What do you guys want to do?"

"I definitely don't think I can take any more today. In fact, I'll probably try to catch some sleep now, and plan on staying in bed for at least a day. You've really helped me out a lot, Garrit, for which I thank you, but my leg won't stand up to another fight."

Only about an hour has passed since the apprentice retired to the ruined tower base. The sun is still high in the sky, though it has begun its downward descent.
