Tests and Trials (Manzanita Judging)

Luthiel keeps sneaking forward, hoping to be out of the goblinoids sight when they make it to the tree line. He intends to catch them off guard with a feww arrows in their backs, while the rest of the team engages them from the other side.

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

Seeing that he's been noticed, Devlin decides to switch tactics. He slowly begins to withdraw away from the clearing, but not so fast that the goblinoids lose sight of him. He wishes to draw them out until they are flanked on one side by Luthiel and the other side by Garrit & Co. The attack by the paladin, wizard & cleric should create enough confusion for Luthiel and himself to get in a sneak attack, increasing their chances of success.

ooc: Devlin probably could engage them now, but will hold his attack until the rest of the party completes their 100-count and attacks, at which point he will shoot his crossbow at the closest goblinoid then draw his rapier.

One of the goblin-things finally catches a glimpse of Devlin and lets out a shrill cry. Its lips pull back into a grimace (or a wild smile) and its long sharp teeth glisten in the afternoon sun. It races out into the forest, and its companions follow quickly. Together, they make such a huge ruckus that Garrit, Jasper, Cryndo, and Malen can all hear their cries.

OOC: Devlin is about 60' into the forest, the creatures are about 10' into the forest.

Garrit Kelspire, Paladin 1 of Hyrag

When one of these goblins get within 40' of Garrit he will either charge if possible, or double move if charging isn't possible.

OOC to Animus: The goblins are actually moving away from Garrit. Since Devlin is at 3 and Garrit is at 6, when the goblins rush into the forest towards Devlin, they move away from him. It wasn't exactly specified, but the main party is about 30' south (6 o' clock) of the clearing right now.

Malen, Dwarf Wiz1

Malen will take aim at the first goblin he's got a clear shot at, ready to fire once Cryndo/Garrit make a move toward the clearing/goblins.

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Assuming that they don't see him before then, Luthiel will attempt to hit whichever is closest to him with an arrow just before Garrit, Cryndo, and the magicians attack from the other side, hoping to add to the confusion.

Devlin runs deep into the woods. The creatures follow him, yelping and screeching in their weird tongue.

Malen can't get a clear shot at all through the trees. He could shoot now and risk his arrow being lost in the branches or he could move in closer to his prey.

Garrit dashes into the clearing and can now easily see the goblinoid creatures through the trees. He quickly prepares to run them down with his longsword.

Luthiel, seeing the creatures race by him, lets loose an arrow. It completely misses its target. So badly, in fact, that the goblin-things still don't realize that another foe hides in the trees right next to them.

OOC: Official combat mode. It's been a bit convoluted, so I organized things to the best of my understanding. Here's the initiative order, most of round 1 has happened already. Enkhidu, you can choose to move Malen and get a better shot or shoot through the foliage.

Code:
[b]Initiative Order:[/b]
Devlin
Goblins
Malen
Garrit
Luthiel
Jasper
Cryndo
Jasper's turn.

ooc: Am I correct in assuming that Jasper and Cryndo need to declare their actions for this round before I go again?
