Thank-you, Gentlemen of the Jury (says the Pedophile-Killing Paladin)

Personally, I just want to congratulate your DM on dealing with a difficult situation, having his judgement called into question on multiple accounts, and finally finding a solution that sounds like it's both fun, and keeps the peace.

Happily, this ended well. A punishment but not loss of paladinhood is precisely what I think should happen.

However, I urge you to have a nice talk with your DM about the paladin code so that this never happens again.

Having DMed for a little over 16 years, I find that it is best to keep myself open to what my players have to say about certain critical or crucial issues that can emerge during a game. It comes across as giving them their due respect and regard, as long as they know and respect the fact that at the end of the day it is the DMs call and it is final. I have been fortunate in that my players are fully aware of the demands that a DM faces in planning and running a memorable and successful game, one session after another, hence they seldom, if ever call my decision into question unless it is something that they feel is extremely unjust or onerous, in which case, I factor their feelings and thoughts and suggestions into my final decision on the matter.

Good point! I think, particularly given how much more challenging it is to role play a Paladin well, I woul suggest that u and your DM define what would be parameters of the various virtues that a Paladin is expected to uphold and live by. It will remove any unnecessary ambiguity and conflict of opinion in future encounters, and with a Paladin such conflicts are far more likely than not given the very narrow path that they walk in life.

It is a pleasure to Serve.

It was my pleasure to be of service. It allowed me to role-play.

Thank you for allowing all of us a place in your campaign.

I'm having a bit of a problem taking you seriously. You may want to ditch the Oven Mitt Icon....

Perhaps you are right. I like the way the new gauntlet provides some protection from fire damage, but it IS a wee bit silly looking. Oh well.

Show 'em my motto:

way to keep an open mind and work thru the problem. sounds like it will work for your group.

(aside) Torm --- everyone knows Red Knight is the true deity of Paladins. ;)

I can't tell you how happy I am that you realised the proposals by the majority (even if it wasn't my voice ;))

I'd tell ye what I think of that, but I fear upsetting Eric's Grandma.

(That's right - even Torm the True fears Eric's Grandma. Have any of you ever seen her statted out?) :D
