I wanted to thank you guys and the rest of WoTC for making what appears, after several read-throughs, like an awesome game.

You have, in my opinion, created the DnD I have been waiting for since the early 90'ies. Simple, yet complex, balance, yet differenciated, but most of all, intuitive and very easily customizable by the DM.

I can't remember a version of DnD (and I have or have had them all) where I wanted so badly to be a player, to try all the sweet classes and races. Usually only a few in each edition appealed to me. This time around, I can honestly say that all races but the half-elf appeal to me, and all, that's right, all 8 classes are just made of awesome :)

The DMG is brilliant, so much good advice and helpful tools to help me structure my encounters/adventures/campaigns, all presented in a clear and straight-forward manner.

And the monsters... All I can say is WOW!. This is just what I wanted. 2e flexibility with 4e streamliness (I don't think that is a word, but what the hell). Although I have to admit, that whoever came up with the 4e version of the Hydra, should be spanked really hard (and not the good kind of spanking).

Anyway, now I must get going, my players are coming over, to sit all day perusing the books and talking 4e.

So once again, thank you very much for making an awesome new version of DnD, that I am looking forward playing for the next many years.

Cheers

Yes, congrats.

For everything except dual-bastard sword wielding rangers. Seriously, what were you guys thinking? Was it sugar rush induced insanity? Beer-goggled lunacy? Pizza-spattered typo?

But for everything else, w00t!

Thank-you to everyone that worked on 4e at WotC and the external playtesters too. If you couldn't tell, I've been a 'little' excited about 4e for a while now (see the 70,000+ view PrRC thread ;) ). I see it fixing the kind of problems our group has with the game, especially as we reach higher levels - balance, length of turns, number of dice rolled, DM prep time, and overall complexity.

Congratulations on moving the hobby in a great new direction.

If I can ask one thing though? Can you please organize your supplements better than 3.5? I would much rather have a book of feats and a book of powers and a book of equipment rather than finding the material scattered all over the place. If you keep all the classes to the PHBs, I'd be happy!

Thirded, fourthed or whatever. Whatever your opinions about Hasbro and Wizards these guys have put a lot of effort into the new version of the game and deserve thanks.

By the way, half-elves are going to be the surprise package of 4e - you'll see.

Agreed -- congrats and many thanks for a fantastic game.

Before the announcement last August, I had already reached the point where D&D was no longer fun for me to DM any more. I loved getting together with my friends, but prepping and running the mechanical details of the game were no longer much fun.

4th edition has rekindled my interest in being a DM again. It seems like the design of 4th edition remembered that the DM also should have fun with the game!

I look forward to a lot of great gaming in the coming years...

The books are beautiful and the game runs smooth as silk.

Truly an achievement to be proud of.

Word up.

My boss sent out an email to our entire department yesterday that ditching work today would be frowned upon (even if we provided one of The Rouse's excellent excuses), and she expected all of us to be at our desks at the normal time.

Today, she comes in 2 hours late carrying the core books.

Where do you work again?
