That Was The Year That Was

The formula for successful module sales is simple, they must be well written and well edited with good support (web enhancements) and an fresh twist on an old plot. Look at Necromancer Games for an example.

However, even they are ones with real jobs doing d20 on the side, for the most part. Best modules out there, though.

Enough of my prattlings. Remember, these are just my views as I see them, sitting here in Mongoose Hall stuffed with food and drink (and plainly not enough of the latter).

Everyone will have their own opinion on these topics and there is absolutely no reason why you should listen to mine!

Glad things are good over at Mongoose land. Keep it up with the interesting products next year!

However, at this minute, right now sitting on my desk, is another contract. From a different company. And I know this one actually exists, it is right there in black and white. I am told I can announce this in a couple of weeks time (Ha!) and I can say now that I truly believe this will do better for us than anything we have done before. It is going to be good. Really. And we will be all over this licence :) **Ducks**

Please tell me its Birthright. :D

Man that would make my year... one of the best campaign settings ever! I wish I was wealthy enough to buy the license myself and bring it into d20... It has everything I look for in a campaign setting... combat, intrigues, great villians, and awesome powers! How I miss it... and my books... I donated them to my college gaming group and from my understanding no one uses them b/c everyone's in a FR or AU game ;-(

You could always just "un-donate" them. :D

Joe, he might be able to do that but lets face fact, once you donate Birthright you are undeserving of its glory. :D

Just kidding jaldaen, I would do the above and undonate them too. :)

For me, it's very important for a setting to have good adventure modules supporting it (see as an example the Iron Kingdowns settings), specially if it's a whole adventure campaing. I don't have time enough for desing an adventure, so I have to buy it done.
Nowadays it seems that adveture campaings are not prime objectives for the industry, which I think it's a pitty.

Just my 2 cents

PS: Sorry for my bad english :(

I weep for my folly... I thought foolishly to have other introduced to its glory, but without my guidance the gaming club has fallen astray of the righteous path...

It's been tempting... but unfortunately I can't do that... though perhaps I'll save up some money and buy them back... (I had everything for Birthright, except 1 or 2 of the domain books... so it'll be a bit expensive ;-)

Happy New Year!
