The 3.0 Sohei....

Has anyone played this class? Does it translate well into 3.5? What are you opinions on it?

There was a 3.5 revision of the Sohei in an issue of Dragon magazine #318, along with 3.5 updates of a lot of the information from Oriental Adventures.

At first level, it plays well. Don't know how that stands at higher, but the one time we did OA (Shaman, Samurai, Rogue, Monk, Sohei) things went well.

In my game world, we have dwarven sohei who guard the sacred forges of the dwarven patriarchs. We had a sohei PC who got to level 13 or so -- IIRC it was a fun class to play, with no obvious flaws.

I created a crow-headed Tengu Sohei in Sigil's Lotus District, who watched over a number of temples in that area of the city. I only got to use her in combat once, and she did pretty well, but we were using a sort of bastardized 3e/3.5 at that time.
