The Dauntless make a serious effort to find and heal Kalanyr. He is too dangerous in his current state

Any new Domination books which have being printed are distroyed as they are found.

Large underground Vaults are constructed to house the population in case of a major disaster. These are carved out deep within mountain ranges within our teritories. Any passages which lead to the underdark are collapsed and sealed.

The Dauntless begin gathering all sorts of knowledge: Books on Magicial Theory (Including janos' works), Engenering, mathamatics, anything. They set up secure Libraries in their lands to store these books, similar to Candlekeep. Set will also be kept within the Vaults.

The general Populance are edjucated on what to do in case of an attack by outsiders or Athasians, as well as how to deal with natural disasters.

Craftsmen are encouraged to teach others their skills. Blacksmiths, Engeiners, and other mundane craftsmen are paid 1gp/week by the goverment for each student they take on.

Citizens are also encouraged to learn the healing arts. Free training in basic healing skills will be provided free of charge to any who are interested. The avialibilty of these classes will be made widley known, as well as the advantiges of knowing how to heal.

Ardan answers some questions, and brings forth an aide.

"This is Surrin Kalor," Ardan says, introducing a female dwarf wearring the holy symbol of Berronar. "She has worked closely with the Silver Cabal. I have a matter of our mutual interest to attend to. Until we meet again, good day."

Ardan bows low, and rushes over to his office. A small crowd of 20 people of different races are waiting. Dwarves, halflings, elves, and a few priestesses of Ellistrae rise from their seats as Ardan enters.

"Mr. President," a tall woman with black hair, clad in the robes of Lathander says as Ardan enters. She is dark haired with an intense, worried look in her eyes.

"I apologize for my lateness. I think things will go well with our main efforts. However, we have a critical task. We must find and save Arkanyl."

I devote my efforts to find Arkanyl. We do a systematic search, using our resources.

A shockwave heads throughout the Dauntless – Loius Pasteur has gone missing, presumed kidnapped. Exhaustive investigation, both magical and mundane roots out several informants and traitors placed in positions that allowed access to Pasteur. However, who or what is responsible can be traced no further than a few links in the chain before the people apprehended simply do not know who their employer was.


Two days afterwards an innocent looking handwritten note turns up on Bugbears desk:

You have at your disposal the means to rid Faerun of its troubles yet you do not use it. The personal agendas of wizards amongst you causes fatal hesitation. Unleash the anti-magic dweomer the Gnomes have created for you. Unless you do, the assistance of the Silver Cabal will ultimately be futile in the face of what we face, so I will have no hesitation in severing your ties with them. You cannot continue to sit on your hands and pretend that magic can be allowed to exist whilst the problems it has caused be solved. Your choice is this: Allow magic to run rampant and turn to it for your solution to all the problems facing you, or, cast the anti-magic spell thereby ending the madness that assaults us all and have Mr. Pasteur returned and gain his assistance in curing the plague.

You have 24 hours to cast the spell. Time grows nigh, closer than you even realise and this decision must be made now.

OOC: Greetings all and Edena!
I would like to join I have read all the posts so far and have a good understanding of what is going on (a lot ;)) My knowledge of the FR is not very substantial, but as I found out last night, good enough. I would like begin as a writer/Corsair in Zakhara.
I do need some information to do that though.

1: Is it allowed for me to take Zakhara as a starting Place?
2: Can I Make up any information that I do not know/does not exist about Zakhara
3: Has the Plague allready Spread to Zakhara (probably not, because the trade lines were most likely cut after the chaos on fearun
4: If it is still used, what is the PL of Zakhara, or some of the different factions of Zakhara. I looked at the links posted by william, and it had SOME information on Zakhara, which I will read, but I haven's seen a map yet (I came up with a dead link or two)
5: Perhaps the most important question, Can I still join?

My Character:
Muad Dha Bin. Roque 10/Bard 5/Fighter 5/Scourge of the Seas 10

If everything get's ok'ed and the plague hasn't spread to Zakhara yet, I will do the following.

I will write the following, in mundane writing and spread it along Zakhara.

Book 1: The Life of a Corsair

This book will detail all the pleasure of the life of the corsairs, including great treasures to be found (without locations, which are mentioned to be known by the great Corsair Muad Dha Bin)

Book 2: The History of The corsair Kings

This books will detail the history of the great corsair kings and other great rulers, it states that Muad Dhga bin is the heir of the Great Corsair Kings, and that he is destined to be the leader that will unite Zakhara against the terrors of the other continents.
This book will also include the location of Muad Dha Bin homeport, where people can sign up to join Muad Dha Bin.

Book 3: The Art and Benefits of building Ships

This books will learn even the lowliest commoner to build ships, and it will state the benefits of building ships for the Corsair king.

Pamphlet 1: A Pamphlet dealing about the dangers of Fearunian books, That only Zakharian books are to be read. It will urge every reader to actively destroy any fearunian books they find on the continent of Zakhara. It will also detail the dangers of the happenings on fearun.

If all goes to plan, and I will get some influence (depends on Edena) I will close off Zakhara, so that it doesn't get hit by the plague. I will also try to ward as much a possible from scrying attempts, as I want to be an unknown power until the time comes that I will reveal myself.

I will also try to get my hands on some books, and let them be examined by my wizards and sorcerers so I will have my own dominating books. I will also Try to develop counterspells for all the books I get my hands on.

Preparations for a great army will be taken, as well as the creation of a great Armada. Spies will be trained, and sent to infiltrate the different Alliances. A Geas will be placed upon them so they cannot tell, in any form, anything about their spying activities or where they are from.

I have not found any statistics to figure out a PL yet, I'll continue looking.

The region I try to get a hold off now are: Corsair Domains, the Free cities and Qudra. This will Give me control of the northern reaches of Zakhara, Once that is accomplished I'll kmove along to The cities around the golden gulf.

The effect of my books as I see them (Don't look at this if you don't want to, Edena, but I'll give my reasoning behind my books.)

The Life of A corsair is ment to Get the people in the Free cities very excited to being a corsair, for these cities are allready a bit chaotic and free spirited.

The history of the corsair kings is ment to unite the differnt voillages and islands of the Corsair domain under my rule, as well as any of the free cities that has joined the Corsairs.

The Art and benefits of Ship building is ment to get people enthusiastic for ship building so I can create a great armada in little time. It also shows the benefits of ship building and joining the corsairs to Qudra.

The Pamphlet is ment to withold any fearunian books coming into zakhara, as well as Convince Qudra to Join my empire in de fense of the dangers on Fearun.

Shouldn't Edena be the one who announces an unstoppable kidnapping ?
 

Timothy, check the previous thread. Lantan was defeated, and we have BIGGER problems now.

It is up to Edena to decide what you can run. As well as what actions work.

OOC- Edena I changed Arkanyl's character level after looking at the other PCs, I edited the post that contained his character level.

Arkanyl is against releasing the Epic Magic Killer, not particularly surprising since he's a Faerie and a mage, and he says Mystra be damned , she's not my God or Goddess.

Arkanyl though cured of his insanity is still scarred by the memories of what has become of his kin. He also does his best to explain the nature of the Red Death, and he decides to do some research comparing its nature to preexisting beings such as Demogorgon, The Dark Powers and similar potent evils.

Ashamed of his actions under the Red Death's influence Arkanyl sets out to travel to Oerth,Athas and Krynn. He will travel to those most likely to listen to him (Elves, Faerie and Wizards.) and make the following speech (while in the presence of human nations he assumes human guise, in elven nations elven guise, other nations human, to the Faerie he appears as himself).

"First I come before you to return the greetings you sent and to give my deepest apologies for the Red Death
s coming. But I will give you all the information I have discovered of the foul creature. And wish to tell you that both the Dauntless and the Free Nations of Faerun are doing all they can to rid the world of this foul interloper. Those responsible were the gnomes of Lantan Isle in a stupid but understandable grab for power. But they have been dealt with. "

Yeah, I've editted my post accordingly. Not having been in any of the previous IR's I'm trying to feel my way as to how much influence we can directly exert. I've seen people posting information about wildly powerful characters and using their character abilities to effect the game. In the absence of any rules it's a fine line to walk. However, I think an action such as I'm attempting will have strong repercussions, so best leave it to Edena.
