The 7 Deadlies

First Post
Greetings all, publishers and otherwise, I'm writing this to see if anyone is interested in the idea I'm about to pitch. Whether you're interested in seeing a book like this, publishing a book like this, or buying a book like this, I'd like to hear it. (Likewise if you think the idea stinks I probably don't WANT to hear it, but I appreciate constructive criticism at all times).
I recently started working on a book about the 7 Deadly Sins. The focus is on providing decent villains, and possible adventures, all centered around the a common theme. Each sin would receive a single chapter. Each chapter would contain, at a minimum, one sinful organization, a new prestige class, a new monster, a location tied into the organization, and influencial NPCs/villains tied to the organization. Adventure hooks and the like would also be included.
That's the abre minimum, some chapters would have more materials (new spells, magic items, etc.) others would not. Have already started working on it, and am just curious whether there'd be any interest.

Brian,
Hate to say it, but nobody is likely to respond here. Write a detailed proposal and send it off to the publishers you think would be interested.

Frankly, I would write the proposal before doing more work on the book. Find a place interested in the book before you spend a huge amount of time creating it. I would suggest writing up one of the deadly sins to give as an example of your work. If it doesn't sell, you would still have a PrC, spells, organization, and adventure that could potentially be marketable in other ways.

Just a suggestion,
Patrick

Patrick,

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not really trying to get a publisher to make an offer. I'm mainly trying to see if many people (consumers) would like to see a product along this vein.

Brian, you might wanna try a poll in General - ask the consumer!

PS: Have you seen The Villain Design Handbook (KoK) ?

It has sections devoted to each of the villainous archetypes:

Deviants
Devoted
Fallen
Inhuman
Power Mad
Visionary

Differentiating from that bopok and BoVD would be key.

I would probably vote "cautiously interested". My first thought on reading your idea is that most villains are most likely commiting mutliple types of sinning on a regular basis:p , but I can see organizations devoted to the glorification of a particular one...
