the affect of altered magic?

What would the affect of short duration magic on a world be? Both high powered and common, there could possibly be wizards walking around the streets casting fireballs, throwing up walls of stone, polymorphing etc., but what if it didn’t last long. What if all spells only lasted for at most an hour. Even raise dead spells don’t last. The assassinated king may be raised from the dead for questioning, but an hour later, hes back in the casket. Even a spell used to give back a man’s arm that’s been severed, doesn’t last. A world full of instant gratification. How does this affect the normal D&D world? How does this affect society? How does this affect your standard Adventurer?

Well, it'd make the entire [Healing] sub-school mostly useless; and thereby drive development of more spells (like the Vigor) line that grant Fast Healing for a short duration instead.

Other than that, it really wouldn't affect adventurers at all. Well, it would make their job a bit safer I guess since they wouldn't have to worry about magical traps anymore.
