The Aristocrat as a viable PC class

Hmmm.

What about making human Noble a "race" (background) like in Pulp Heroes? The character forsakes all normal human bonuses (no bonus feat at 1st level, no extra skill points at level 1 and thereafter)?

HUMAN NOBLE
+2 Cha, -2 Str
+1 to Diplomacy and Intimidate
One Style Feat (as above)
And all the wealth and equipment bonuses above
Favored Class: Fighter

kind of like Ever-Smack's Erudites?

If you are going to make them a "race" I would remove the str penalty and make them a ECL 1.

This would lend itself to all the races. A dwarven noble with full plate or an elven noble with a masterwork rapier. Maybe even a 1/2 orc noble with banded mail with armor spikes.

Would this work better as a template?
