The Asgard 5 varient skill system Awesome!

The education point system in the new Asgard magazine is one of the best ideas I have seen in a long time.

It allows a much more interesting skill system and better fleshed out characters and it doesn't break anything in the combat, traps, or other adventuring parts of the game

I am going to combine this with my slightly modified open/class/closed skill list ,regional skills and cultural/area lores and have a kick butt skill system.

Great work Cyberzombie!

I'm a little iffy on using the prime class stat to modify skill pts per level rather than Int.--this exacerbates the problem of cookie cutter characters--why play an intelligent fighter? At least it tends to benefit all the classes equally, except the wizard, who has fewer base skill pts because its already assumed he'll have a high Int.

I did, however, like the idea of splitting skills into two groups--the last edition of Shadowrun (that I played, anyway) did this, and it's a good idea--let the normal skill pts be used for "active" (ie game useful) skills, and have a separate pool for background skills, which are more for color.
