Someone point me in the direction of Zeb Cook's(I think it was him) 20 level core class version of the standard 10 level prestige class please I heard things about it and really want to see it I have long believed assassins are a core class. Not a kit(TSR) or a prestiger class(WoTC) Gary got it right the first time no need to fix an unbroken concept.

I don't mind as long as the basic assassin does not use spells. I can understand assassins belonging to specific orders or guilds may have developed a spellcasting tradition but the generic assassin should not be a spellcaster.

Sejs is wise; everyone should listen to the flying cube.

I agree with his little "a" big "A" definition but I don't think that spell use is necessary for a "professional".

Couldn't have said it better myself. I also agree with Sejs.

I like assassins. I want lots of assassin groups, many with distinct powers. (Some might even have more than one unique prestige class working for them, as well as basic assassins and other characters.)

edit - For the record, prestige class, not base class.

No, but it is necessary for a particular kind of professional - namely, a member of a generic fantasy Assassins' Guild, steeped in dark arts, etc.

This is not to say that you couldn't have similar prestige classes without the spellcasting abilities fulfilling largely the same role, but they'd be of a slightly different stripe.

And I wonder if Sejs came up with the little "a", big "A" thing on his own. I've been using it in various discussions for years now (usually in conjunction with little "b", big "B" barbarians). Great minds? Convergent evolution? You decide. :D
