So far we have three of them (IIRC), and all were subject to criticism because of one thing or the other. But there can be only one. Which one is it?

I had to go with NWN. Its good in so many ways. Now my vote is based on the entire package.. meaning game, Dm tools, Module Tools, Additional player made mods etc. Taken as a whole its the best package ive seen yet IMHO.

I agree with Chaz, NWN is everything that it claimed to be. Also, it is a fresh start, with a new engine and fresh potential. Personally, I had the 'played it already' feeling with IWD2.

PoR2? Doesn't even compare.

Po(o)R2 (officially) used 3e rules (although it was more like some playtest rules).

I don't like IWD2 either, because of what they did to the thief (I'm not even calling that one rogue!)

NWN isn't perfect, but it's very good, and makes quite good use of the 3e rules.
