Good grief this is hard. Now maybe if you went with seperate catagories such as action, fantasy, horror, ect. And maybe top three of five this is hard.

I loved "Amelie." One of the few movies I can watch over and over and still enjoy it incredibly.

Next on the list would be the epics - Titanic and Gone with the Wind.

I could type for hours, listing my favorite, and still forget most of the films I think have a shot at "the best". But I'm easily entertained.

Quite an interesting thread, with many overlapping favorites.

My favs are:
-Tearjerker= An Affair to Remember (Cary Grant/Deborah Kerr version)
-Samurai = Seven Samurai (classic!)
-Fantasy = The Princess Bride and LotR trilogy (not so serious and serious together)
-Comedy = Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (weakness for Kevin Smith films)
-Sci-Fi = The Fifth Element
-Independent = The Gamers
