The Briar King: Is it the Next Big Thing?

I thoroughly enjoyed it; found it quite the page-turner, in fact. Though I didn't find it as strong a story as Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, or Guy Kay's work. Enjoyable nonetheless, however.

Briar King is a great book. But it should come as no surprise since Keyes has written some great books, Black God, the whole parallel reality thing, etc. But I will say this was his most impressive work yet.

The Briar King by J. Gregory Keyes has been recently released:

Recently? The book has been out for a year now. That's not terribly recent. If it were going to be the "next big thing", it would probably be a bit more noticible on the radar at this point.

Yeah, the paperback is being released on March, 30th and I am eagerly awaiting it. I really enjoyed the first two books of Keyes' Age of Unreason series and I'll be finishing the last two by March 30th.

The Charnel Prince is coming out in June or May, I think.

The Briar King was quite an enjoyable book, not the 'next big thing' but very enjoyable.

I am currently reading it. I am enjoying it a great deal...Not as much as Martin's books. I dont know if I would call it the next big thing, but I do like it.

I was not aware that it was the first in a series...????
