Hasbro doesn't worry about revising Connect Four or Monopoly every five years.

If Connect Four and Monopoly were even half as complex as D&D then they probably would.

Show me a game that has that amount of complexity. The closest I can think of are the fantasy sports and each league has their own rules, and even periodically some up with new stats to measure player performance.

If you look at real-life professional sports you'll see changes every couple of years. I believe the NHL has had changes every year for the 5 or 6 years.
