The Ceremony. The Party. The Prizes. The Hype!

I am so excited, I just have to share with everyone what we've been working on for the night of the ENnies (Friday, August 11th).

First of all, it's being held at the gorgeous Westin Hotel's Grand Ballroom IV, so a lot closer than past years, and connected by convenient skywalk.

We've asked for 20 tables in front of the stage (which has a ramp for ease of access) for our publishers, their Dream Dates, and media types. This isn't because we don't value fans- they're the most important part of the process. This is just so we don't have to spend half the night waiting for someone to get from their seat to the stage to accept their award!

Before we start the ceremony (doors open to the public at 7:30), there's a cash bar and games to play. Big thanks go out to Atlas Games, Looney Labs, Out of the Box, Steve Jackson Games, White Wolf Publishing, and Z-Man Games for not only loaning us copies of their games to play, but donating them to the cause.

Which brings me to... Door Prizes! We've got several hundred dollars worth of gaming gear and books to give away including card games and two Bags of (Dice) Holding from The Gamer's Bag. Advancing Hordes donated a whack of dice, but these bags are so big, we're going to have to stuff them with miniatures and counter collections just to fill them, but fill them we shall- then hold a draw for them! And Rich Burlew (Giant in the Playground) is donating a set of autographed copies of the Order of the Stick books! There are other prizes in the works, but I don't want to announce them until they're a done deal. These door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening, so it's worth while to show up early and stay until the end.

Doors open to the public at 7:30pm. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis (although the tables at the front are as always reserved for our nominees and their guests) If you want to get reserved seating up front, you're very welcome to bid on the Dream Date Auctions (there are five left).

Acting as Emcee once again this year is EN World's very own Piratecat. My daughters, the lovely Gelflings will be handing out medals and trophies again- although this year I'll have the taller one placing the medals around the winning necks! We've got a few guest presenters this year- the gaming mogul himself Peter Adkison will be popping by to present the Fans' Choice for Best Publisher. We've also got last year's winners of Best Game, Kate Flack from Black Industries to present Best Game, and Monte & Sue Cook of Malhavoc Press (winners of Best d20 Game last year). Oh yeah, and Keith Baker and Rich Burlew, too.

Once everything's done and all the photos are taken, a DJ-to-be-named will be spinning some tunes until midnight. I can't really say who the DJ is yet, because his flight hasn't been confirmed yet. Let's just say that White Wolf Publishing is bringing in someone special, and has graciously let him off his leash for a few hours Friday night for the post-ENnies party.

Oh yeah- our booth has been moved to "D" (instead of "B" as previously advertised). We're still in the hall outside the Exhibitor Hall, just two booths down from the Klingon Jail.

Can't wait!
