The Challenge of Epic-Level Campaigns!

It's a bit of an inside joke--mmadsen is familiar with the kind of Orcs that roam about in my campaign, and how I tend to play them...

Actually, I think to do the SHARK Orc justice, it should've been, "You kick open the door and see...an Orc!"

Really, I just thought the notion of kicking open a door and seeing a room crammed full of 100 Orcs was pretty silly. A room full of 100 SHARK Orcs, well, that's dark comedy.

That, to me, is epic level. Not the escalation of damage; rather the escalation of complexity and responsibility.

Do we expect the upcoming epic handbook to address this?

So far, SHARK has suggested integrating Epic Heroes into the campaign world. They're no longer plucky adventurers; they're kings and arch-magi. They lead armies; they conquer nations.

Volaran has suggested another tack, journeys beyond the mortal realm, personal attention from the gods, etc.

Both suggestions intrigue me. Any other suggestions?
