I know you're referring to the events afterward but efforts like this just reinforce to me why emboldening player empowerment can be extremely productive. My default idea of "what was behind the door" was much less interesting than @sheadunne 's idea. If you're at a table of "duds" then by all means, hammer that baby into shape with a hefty dose of GM-force and lead them to Rome. But if you have creative, responsible players, the odds are good that there will be moments aplenty where they have better ideas for what makes for a fun game or an interesting scene than you do. Why not leverage that? And again, improvising off of what they invoke is a considerable portion of the fun for me at this point in my GMing tenure. I think what we're seeing here is Court Mage as Unseelie Agent using Flesh Golem husks to "do all kinds of stuff." Maybe he was down in the underbelly looking for bodies for spare parts/repairs. Seems like he is allied with the dragon. I meant to cover it just above, but I was going to give you a + 4 due to @Campbell 's significant success well beyond the Easy DC (which was what was required for his Secondary Skill Support Action). You will have considerably exceeded the Hard DC (of which would have been allotted to this action) - by 15 +. You guys accrue a success at the Hard DC for the challenge and I'm going to give you a + 2 to hand out as you see fit (presumably to Theron, but I'll let you voice that).

3 Successes (1 at Hard) 1 Failure 6 Advantages Remaining

The strength of your challenge silences the terror-filled shrieks from the room momentarily, long enough for the peal of thunder from Kord's retribution to charge the air and give divine sanction to your authority.
