The XP award per player, awarded as this session was beginning, was 4,901 xp. The 3 friends, having left the labyrinth at the end of the last session, decide to begin this session with some magical reconnaissance. Aethen uses his spear's Commune ability to ask Athena herself 20 questions. Flea uses his Contact Other Plane spell to ask Thoth 10 questions. Flea cannot fail the ability check (DC 16) for this spell. Figuring out beforehand which questions to ask was a long process, because of the amount of discussion involved between Aethen and Flea. But it was better to do it this way, before casting, because the spell description specifically mentions how the spell ends immediately if the questions aren't asked in short order. COMMUNE (AETHEN): 1. Q: Where is Morketh? A: Deeper in the labyrinth, near the end. 2. Q: How many minions does he have? Is he summoning reinforcements? A: Hundreds of minor minions. Several major minions. Yes, he has summoned reinforcements. FREE: F: Beware Lam and Cori, the ancient, mated pair, who await you somewhere in the labyrinth. They are very wise, very cunning, and very formidable. They are also evil to the core, and cannot be bargained with. Should you meet them, the encounter will be to-the-death. 3. Q: How many reinforcements did he summon?
