Flea also used a Miracle to give him a +9 bonus to the DC of his next spell. The plan was for Aethen to use his first turn to Imprison Morketh. It almost didn't work; Aethen was able to penetrate Morketh's spell resistance, but the Elder Orb beholder made his saving throw. Aethen then used another Miracle spell (+2,500 experience points) (during his Haste action) to force Morketh to re-roll the save; on the second save attempt, Morketh failed, and was imprisoned.With their master gone, the two Pit Fiends, and one Gelugon guard, were easily dealt with. Flea uses a Disintegrate spell to deal with the Gelugon, who is immediately turned into a pile of dust. Sasha makes quick work of the two Pit Fiends, using her innate Chain Lightning power. Even while failing to break their Spell Resistance more than half the time, and even with the fiends making more than 85% of their saving throws, there are simply too many lightning bolts to contend with. Both fiends fall to Sasha's onslaught.</p> <p style="text-align: justify"></p> <p style="text-align: justify"><strong><em>The two pit fiends and the gelugon are of course, not dead;</em></strong> their bodies (and the pile of dust) wink out of existence. Their equipment and items remain.The gelugon, having failed his masters, will reform as a lemure. His masters (the two pit fiends) will regenerate their scorched flesh within 6 hours; but they are now bound to the plane of Tartarus for 100 years. The party now has permanent enmity with the two fiends.</p><p></p><p><strong>The party discovers Morketh's ring gates; the rings lead to a sizable treasure hoard.</strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>The total haul is as follows:</strong></p><p></p><p>2 Portable Holes (1 from each fiend)</p><p>1 set of ring gates (from Morketh)</p><p>62 gems and 89 pieces of art.
