The Chronicles of Prydain: What would you use from it, and how?

He really is very nice, and he still goes to the local elementery schools to talk about reading and how important it is. I still remember when he came to the hospital and gave me an autographed copy of the Arkadians when I was in for my appendix to be removed. He's a neighbor of mine so when I was younger, we used to sit out on his porch and talk about Prydain, it was right when I was first reading the books. That ability to pick his brain on it was what got me into reading, and eventully roleplaying.

Seriously, though, just keep in mind that compared to "standard" D&D, Prydain is a fairly low-magic world. You don't see everyone and his brother running around with +1 flaming swords; essentially, ALL magic items are one-of-a-kind Artifacts.

And how do you pronounce Fflewddur Flam anyway? I think it's "FLEW-thur FLOM" but I'm not sure.

If I was running a setting that was suitable (folkloric, slightly whimsical) I'd definitely steal some of the magic: the harp of truth and piggy prophecies, in particular.

The cauldron-born are definite a high 'theft risk', too.
