"What in the seven hells is that thing?"

Voices float down the stairwell past the Mobile Fortress Bunkbed, which smolders but fails to burst into flames from Palindrome's magic. Time is quickly running out.

Skill challenge time! 8 successes before 4 failures. Primary skills will depend on what you're trying to accomplish. If it's escaping through the sewers, primary skills are Athletics, Acrobatics, Dungeoneering, Stealth. If you change your minds and try to bluff your way out of it, we'll change up the skills needed. Appropriate uses of other skills will give bonuses (or possibly penalties), and if you can think of a way to use powers, I'll consider that on a case by case basis.

If you bring Arnest along, you can either carry him, or untie his feet if you trust him enough. Tsasha will have to be carried if you bring her. If you're carrying someone, make an athletics or endurance check in addition to your skill challenge check that round. Failure will impose a penalty on the next primary skill use.

No need for initiative, but everyone must act once in each "round".

OOC: Wow, much can in a couple of day's. On the matter about arnest, I dont trust him one bit, but since there is a another cult in town, Atreus cant ignore that and has to do something about it. I suggest that Woe takes the snake lady and carries her. We cut Arnest loose on the feet but still keep his hands tied up. Let's hope we make our skill challenges.
To Covaithe: Are we in rounds now?

" That is not a good sign " he says while running up the steps and closes the door. He quickly looks around to see if there is anything he can use to barricade the door or if the door can be locked.

Afterwards he moves bitterly to Arnest and cuts his ropes tying his feet together. " I presume that you see reason and you have accepted our terms for the job. We will take you to safety and help you dispatch the closed eye, but know this, we wont hesitate to kill you and your lady if you decide do anything that would displease us " and Atreus glances at the exit. " Now, Is there anyway we can lock the exit behind us and how well do you know the sewers? " he askes Arnest while helping him to stand up.

Palindrome chooses a likely-looking side passage, but a short way down it he finds that it dead ends into a room containing a cistern of filth. He stares for a second as a bubble bursts with a squelching sound and an eye-watering odor. Then a portion of the surface of the filth starts to move. A large portion. Palindrome prudently retraces his steps.

Arnest gets to his feet with some difficulty. "Our escape plan in case of invasion was to split up and get to the surface however we could, and then meet up outside the city the next day. So I guess there should be plenty of ways to the surface. But I've never really explored down here."

We're not in rounds as such; you can take actions besides your skill checks within reason. Cutting Arnest loose and talking to him is fine. It's just that everyone has to contribute towards the challenge somehow before anyone can make a second contribution.

We've not heard from Dunamin for a while; could one of you guys post actions for him?

"I've done a fair bit of crawling around old dungeons in old monastaries - let me see if I can find us a quick way out." But try as he might, Tander couldn't find a quick way to the surface. "Gods, there must be another way out!"

Tander takes on the characteristic stillness that indicates he is either thinking or completely spaced out. "If we can't get out soon, I have believe I may be able to stall for time..."

OOC: Dungeoneering 7. Doh. If time runs out, Tander may be able to lose his armor and play a homeless mad religious freak/fanatic while the others continue running.

" Great... " Atreus responds sarcastically. He asks Woe if he can carry the snake woman and tries to lead them out of there to the surface.

I hate to do this in the middle of the pursuit, but something unexpected has popped up and I'll be AFK for a few days. I expect to have it sorted by Sunday at the most--but I hope it will be sooner.

P.S. -- Two failures already. *Groan* I was hoping we could make it three rounds, at least, considering Palindrome is going to fail his roll EVERY FREAKING ROUND...

Just go ahead and RP my character as needed. Y'all will probably get better results with his skills than I will.[/sblock]

ooc: I'm about to go on vacation myself tomorrow. I'll be completely without internet access from tomorrow morning until the 26th. So maybe we'd best just pause here and pick up then...
