If your not seeing original in the D20 world, then you aren't looking. Or deliberatly trying to not see it so you can maintain a point.
Nyambe.
Soverign Stone (Which is NOT exactly traditional fantasy, cover art aside)
Scarred Lands
Spycraft
Wierd Wars
Dragonstar
The tons of books by Mongoose, AEG, Bastion, Atlas, FFG, etc that cover completely new rules for magic, war, core classes, etc.
Now, I don't see how any of that is not original.
For that matter, if you don't think 3E was "original", you are, again, not really looking. Take a glance at the art. That was NOT DnD standard art when the book was published. The writing style was a bit different. Some of the old concepts had been slightly changed. And that wasn't for the better, in a lot of those cases...
Lets be "honest" and "open" look at something for a minute... You are never, ever, going to recapture those first few weeks or months of gaming. You just aren't. I've tried system after system, setting after setting, even going to things like diceless and LARP... and it's never the same as that first little bit of time your gaming. If that's what your looking for, forget it. You're not going to find it. What you CAN do is take an "honest and open" look at the products that are out there and find new ones that interest you. That's about as "original" as you're going to get.
