I was once running a game where the group was level 3 and I told them to level up to 4. One guy still had their PC at 1st.

My 5E players would refuse to play without having at least a 20-page backstory that I'd read over completely and integrated into the game world. This is also one huge reason why I stopped running 5E.

damn I should play 5e with you my back story tends towards bullet points to be integrated into a campaign and more than a page is to much work for me

Rapunzel's Flynn Rider can pass as a nerf herder. In my experience, the meme is wrong, I see more D&D rogues from the first picture than the second.
