The Dance of Souls

(Slagmortar, you already posted your action and your roll for the round.

Patlin, did you want to move this round? I'm assuming so, to reduce the range, which by my last count was more than 60 feet. If you move as I moved you, it's 55 feet.

Also, while I rolled it myself where necessary, the Concealment miss chance (1d100=17) roll for Banion's attack is very important with such a damage potential, and thus in the open. Sorry, Patlin.)

Gur lets two further arrows fly, and from the sound of it, despite the darkness, one of the arrows hits hard. Banion and Beamer both try to repeat the ranger's success, but Banion mistakes a particularly dark spot for a part of the shape, while Beamer's shot glances off of the shape's presumed armor.

Azaroth quickly determines after a few steps north that none of the windows would allow easy access to the roof of the wall or the building. Focussing on the south now, he finds much the same situation. As he reaches the turn towards the east, he can see that the corridor becomes a dead end.

The shape moves away from its position, and behind something that appears to be a piece of the mountain jutting out of the main building, taking cover.

From within the building, a prayer-like chant and some whispering can be heard.

KO, I'm completely baffled by the map, so I can't really comment on where I would like to move to. A 5' step in any direction that seems apropriate would be fine, but at this level it is a move action to create a mindblade and a standard action to throw. 50% concealment miss chance noted for future rolls, didn't skip it intentionally just didn't realize there was concealment involved.

(20%, and I didn't try to imply you guys ignore it on purpose. Just a heads up that you don't think 'how'd I miss on a crit?

What are your exact problems with the map?)

I'm probably just being thick. I can't figure out what icon represents what. I'm not sure which one Banion is, that's the main problem. I'm also unclear as to which is the active badguy, and which ones are just bodies?

(I had hoped I fixed that with the red P and S on the halfling minis.)

(The bodies are transparent. Active enemies are fully opaque.

Any suggestions to improve those things?)

So 1,3, and 4 are KO'd... and 6 (who was sufficiently concealed that I didn't actually see him till just now) is who Banion has been shooting at? Is Banion the P or the S, and what do those stand for? Patlin and Slagmortar? (OK, that must be it... I was trying to think of something character centric for them to stand for, and couldn't come up with anything.)

If all of that is right, and if Banion and the badguy are both on the same level (rooftop, yes?) then all Banion can really do is to take a 5' step east, to bring him more in line.

OOC: Sorry, I didn't realize I had already posted for that round. Beamer readies an action to shoot the first opponent appearing. Can Beamer reach the torch in front of him? If not, how far away is it and does it look like it is fastened in place, i.e. could he pick it up with a prestigidation spell?

(The torch is about 7 feet down. It doesn't appear to be fastened.)

[sblock=Banion, Beamer]
You see the door to the main building being closed. Whoever does this, they remain out of view. From the sounds of it, the inhabitants barricade the other doors. The shape appears to do something. Maybe drinking? It is hard to tell due to the darkness and cover.[/sblock]

[sblock=Azaroth]
Suddenly, you hear sounds that suggest that some doors are being barricaded. As you continue your way, you see someone peeking into the long corridor, who calls out "There is indeed someone!"[/sblock]
