This is why the klingons gave up on building B-10 Battleships, and never built the A-11.
Big is not cost effective, and it is easily destroyed.

(If you don't play Star Fleet Battles, just think of a really big Klingon ship ...)

In D&D, you spend a fortune building an iron golem. And what do you get for it? A rock to mud (1E style) sinks it, the reverse entombs it, and your money and time are down the drain.
What's a poor archmage to do?

As for the fighter, he has one of those greatbows, right? It's 6 feet tall, and built for 23 strength. Until someone sets it on fire, and scratch one cherished bow.

The Death Star was supposed to be the Ultimate Battlestation.
Instead, it turned into the Ultimate Dragonlance Gnomish Monstrosity.

EDIT: I mean, it took the Alliance all of 30 minutes to find it's weakness, and one shot from an X-Wing fighter destroys this ultimate machine. Talk about incompetent bungling on the part of the Empire ...

Now the real minions in Star Wars were the storm troopers. These guys had so much armor on, but it did them almost no good when hit with a simple blaster. Man, did the Empire make that stuff out of tin foil or what?

Don't forget the Jedi. It seems there were about half a dozen PC Jedis but for the most part they were minions. All but a small handful were wiped out in one day by minion stormtroopers.

Storm Troopers are not minions. C-3PO never took down a Storm Trooper. If 3PO took down a Storm Trooper, then they would definitely have minion status. Now Alliance soldiers (from Firefly) are minions. Even the Doctor could take one down (in episode Ariel).

That would work _if_ 3PO ever attacked someone at all. But he didn't 3PO is probably a 3.x Commoner - tons of hit points, but no combat abilities...
