Meh. It just sounds like one more condition to keep track of. The game already has too much bookkeeping.

It's certainly not for everyone or every game, but it has the advantage of being something that can easily be done for a single horror-laden adventure in a larger campaign or in a special situation, and doesn't come with any of the downsides of the Fortune Cards (balance, deck-building, lack of obvious RP presence). As vocal as I am against FCs, the DD is OK with ME.
