The Dojo of the Seven Pillars (closed for renovations)

The blind seer sits near the burning pit in the center of his glade. Deep in concentration, all is clear to him and he knows that it is now the proper time to do what he was sent to do. The cup has been offered and...

"I accept it, with open arms!"

A bright flash from the pit heralds the return of former power and glory to the ancient pillars. They vibrate and hum loudly as the vines that had crepted over them for the last two hundred years flower and then fade, wilting and falling into piles. The runes that cover the pillars, unreadable for a century, emit a soft blue/green light that encompasses the pillars and then the entire glade itself. When the light fades, the pillars looked newly carved and the runes are again readable. They seem to pulse and shift on the pillars, as if they were alive. Though all this, Uziel sat undisturbed.

"Now I just need worthy students. Those who would carve their destinies barehanded from solid rock..."

Uziel can teach his students the techniques of the northstar, the raven, and the hammer if they so desire....however, there are some stipulations.

1) All students of the Seven Pillars must seek wisdom in all things. They must express forethought and tact in their dealings. The actions of all students reflect on the dojo itself.

2) Death is a part of life. When a warrior knowingly enters a battle, he carries his fate on his shoulders. If he falls and his life is taken then it was his time. If a student of the dojo dies in such a manner then he brought honor to the dojo and we shall not avenge him. Similarly, a student must be ready to take an opponent's life if the time comes. It is his duty to do this. Failing in this duty will result in reprimad.

3)Insults to a student are insults to the dojo. If ever a grievous and purposeful insult is made against a student, the entire dojo will support and avenge him if neccesary (OOC: this does not include fight insults, but insults against the dojo said in character)

4) OCC: The player of the student will be respectful to his opponent and others OOC. I don't forsee this as a problem, but just thought I'd mention it. We are all here to have fun.

The dojo is open!

A small shrine has been established in The Glade of the Seven Pillars. It is dedicated to Kento who showed courage, skill, and honor in his fights and who accepted his fate without hesitation. It is because of him that the power of this place could be reawakened. May he never be forgotten.

"So, our most recent murderer opens a dojo, eh? I hope the gods curse it! May the spirit of the boy Kento haunt this place until the day I come and close it down, once I've dealt with Sir Arwen, the Knight of Flowers.

A man wearing a simple white kimono and an old yellow belt approaches the Seven Pillars. Uziel doesn't need the sight to recognize the man who he talked to only a few days ago. "We meet again, oracle", Kerall says after reaching the center of the glade. "What better student for your dojo, than the man who challenged Fate itself? If you accept me, of course."

Kerall sits on the stone and waits for Uziel's answer.

The oracle looks pensive for a moment and replies, "I'd be honored to have you as my student, Kerall. You shall bring glory to the Seven Pillars. Which technique would yould you like to begin your lessons with?"

" Ah, a good choice, as it is my favorite style and quite useful in most situatiosn. First clear your mind of everything but a single pinpoint of light...."

With that Uziel beginsto instruct his new student on teh subtle art of Northstar style fighting.

Kerall returns to the Seven Pillars, to meet Uziel. "I'm sorry, oracle, I have failed and brought disgrace to you. I have lost two fights... the last one against an evil being". The warrior feels ashamed for having lost once again, but then a thought crosses his mind - that the shame he feels is a sign that shows he's truly walking the path of honor once again.

Clearly this feeling has made him strong, for a few days later he returns to report his victory against the Dark Apprentice Wild Helm.

Many months have passed, since Uziel was last seen. The dojo of the seven pillars was forgotten by all, save for its only student. On a foggy morning, Kerall returns to the clearing again, after so much time has passed.

The warrior looks around sadly. Much to his surprise, time hasn't left any trace on the structure. The seven pillars stand, as shiny as they were when Uziel awakened them. No vine has climbed them, and even the grass of the clearing seems to have stopped its growth. The runes' light is dim, but visible, as if they were somehow sleeping. Even more incredible, the fire of the burning pit hasn't been completely put off by the wind and the rains. The embers still glow in the mist.

Kerall sits before them, and stares at them for a long while. Finally, he speaks, not caring much about the apparent absence of listeners. "Master Uziel, I have returned to leave your dojo. I have earned my green belt. After you have accepted me as your student, I have brought to this dojo eleven victories and exactly the same number of defeats".

The warrior smiles. "So, I leave your record just as I found it, but I take with me your teachings, your help, and your memory. Thanks and goodbye".

Then, Kerall stands and leaves, and when he does so the embers become cold and the runes fade to nothing.

But the pillars still stand.

OoC: for the record, the eleven victories and defeats include also those I previously reported.
