The Dungeon:The City of Clocks

With Jack leading Damien back to where the others eat the various iced creams, fried meat and very hot exotic dishes, several Clocks sound overhead. This startles you all, as while you have heard whisltes and bells going off constantly in the City, before now they had not all gone off at the same time. '' Cor, it's Noon, er whut passes fer Noon in this Realm. Pretty, innit, all them clocks synched up like thet.'

Taklinn finishes his meal, washed down with some beverage from a strange yellow cannister, this setting him to belching quite a lot. He grins and purchases several more, stuffing them into his Backpack.

*********************************************************

Looking on at Valendir, Cerri smiles, then suddenly looks up as thousands of Clocks sound at once. 'By the Stone, I'm late! I need to run. Package waiting to be delivered. It was a pleasure meeting you. I'm sure that we shall see one another again. I work for Denton's Deliveries, at 8453-B Frumble Street. You can't miss it, there's a Clockwork Eagle on the roof. Anyways, G'bye Valendir!'
Cerri races off, moving incredibly fast, vaulting over a startled Gnome and doing a cartwheel atop the hood of a strange conveyance piloted by two Dwarfs (who curse at her and shake their fists). Then, she is gone...

Jack Lobbins comes up, smiling and shouts 'Ey! There ya are, we wuz startin'ta worry,Mate! Quests nearly at an end, an then The Dungeon's the Limit! All sorts of adventures await a band of intrepid sorts like arselfs!'
The little Atomie seems especially happy this morning (well, After-Noon, actually).
he waits, hovering in the air with the come on! look that a dog might give if he wanted to go out for a walk...

"Pleasure meeting you Cerri! Bye!" Valendir smiles. Guess she didn't know anything about the Clock King, but she looks just as good going as she does coming!

Valendir grabs a bite to eat somewhere and heads back to where the others were. If they're not there anymore, he'll head to the center, looking for the Clock King.

Valendir once again finds the Companions, with the help of Jack Lobbins (though it took a bit, as the Atomie kept flitting about to explore this Clock, or that magically-illuminated sign).

Once together again, all that seemingly remains is to deliver the MysteriousBox to the Gnome King and then your (Kaz,Taklinn,Aska's) lives are once more their own.

Walking along the Avenue towards the center of the City, the sights to be seen are astounding. To most, the place looks like some fabled Faerieland (although Jack says that Faerie isn't so Garish), to Jason it looks live Vegas on Overload.

After an hour or so (with several more stops for folks to gawk at strange devices in windows and at least one occurance of a mistaken store-clerk who thought that Kaz had stolen something, the Castle comes into view...

The Castle is a magnificent thing, towering higher into the air than any of the other buildings in The City of Clocks.

'It's a Skyskraper...' Jason murmurs as you all take in the view. There must be a hundred levels of windows, starting 30 feet up or so, the lowest part being all of steel and stone. Jack immediately flits off to ascertain just how many levels of windows there are.

At the base stand a set of massive Double-Doors, with fifteen foot tall Constructs similar to the one that nearly ran over Valendir at either side, These are not equipped with sweeping brushes and blades, however. Each has four arms, two ending in hands, bearing hammers, and two looking nothing-so-much as huge versions of the wonderous weapon that Jason used to dispatch the Jedurak Demon, with blackened steel barrels and all sorts of bits involved.

OoC:For those joining after, Jason carries a Thompson SMG...

Kael and Taklinn both note that there is a Gnome embedded deeply into the Constructs, as if the things were a big suit of armor...

Kazareen looks up at the armored Gnomes. Excuse me please. I'm Kazareen Bricklebottom. My companions and I are here to deliver a box to the King. We were sent by the big lizard guy in Whistle. Kaz pulls out the box after a search for it.

Nice...hmmm in a city like this may be able to get a bit more ammo for my little friend.... Hey what do you's mugs say to lookin' for a little entertainment in this place...perhaps a little poker may bring a smile to this gangs face, hmmm? That is to say after this here job is done.

The Gnome-Piloted Machines stay where they are, silent as the Gnomes that sit within them. Around the Companions, folk bustle and hustle to and fro on varous tasks, oblivious to everyone around them. The Main Gates of the Castle open and three gnomes exit, these dressed in immaculate suits of grey and blue.
With them are four massive humanoids with skin like pale grey stone, these armed with long staffs bearing mace-like heads. The doors close behind them and they make their way down and off into the City.
