The Edition should have been this way!!!

This is NOT an edition war thread. It is in fact, half way serious...half way joking. In it you simply state a game similar to one that came out...for either serious or humorous reasons and what it should have been...for example...

D&D 3e should have been Castles and Crusades. Old School gaming with new school ideas (simple dynamic...but all items going up such as BAB and AC)

D&D 4e should have been Pathfinder. You still get bonuses each level...but simpler and easier to remember (no daily this, encounter that...you get bonuses and stats you can remember without cards!!).

Chess 10e should be like D&D 4e. Like moving figures...but with added powers and abilities to spice it up!!!

See...tried to include everyone with some sort of positive spin for each gamestyle without trying to insult anyone...and keep it friendly as well.

Don't try to comment on those who you don't like...just take it as a joke instead. And those who have their comments joked about...joke about it back...but do NOT get mad or start any sort of warring please. If anything...fill it with humor about mocking our own crazy sensibilities.

Another example...

AD&D 2e should have been Rolemaster (okay...that one even stretches my credibility since I actually really really dislike RM...but trying to set an example for all sorts of playstyles). Very complicated...and much more complex than my mind can wrap around!!!! (I'm an old schooler for a reason...I'm getting senile in my old age).

PS: Trying to stay in that half serious/half joking mind frame...well...except for the AD&D 2e one...I wasn't serious about that one at all, it was ALL joke!!!

Chainmaile - rules for Fantasy miniatures should have been Squad Leader - because D&D players haven't lost enough cardboard chits to actually stop play.
Star Frontiers should have been Star Trek the RPG by FASA because everyone knows multiple % charts are better than d20 charts

All RPGs should be 1st edition Traveller - because everyone should have the chance to die during character creation.

D&D 3e should've really just been the "Magic Item Christmas Tree" edition for baking magic into the math, and 4e should've been the "Partridge in a Pear Tree" edition for solidifying it.

GURPS 4e should've really been Savage Worlds, since GURPS is six times the rules with 1/4 the fun of SW.

Pathfinder should've really been the "Demonic Demonizing Devilish Daemon Edition," since apparently everyone in the entire world of Golarion above level 3 has sold their soul to some Abyssal / Infernal agent.
