The end of an era...

Well, I just got a phone call from my dad, and the time has come for the family dog to be put to sleep. She lived a long life of 18 years, and she's ready to go. I'm heading off with my dad at 3:30 to be with him when it happens.

Now, I know we're not supposed to bring religion into things, but if you could pray for my family, my dad especially, during this period, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm sure it's going to be especially rough on him as he has many memories of my mother, who died 5 years ago, tied to this dog.

It was tough, but it really was for the best. My dog, Cubby, couldn't even stand up on her own feet anymore. It was a hard thing to do, but I am confident that it was right.
